Art exhibition at Kirstenbosch Gardens

May 11, 2011

For the last few weeks I’ve been busy preparing for an art exhibition at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town.  This is the first time that specially selected watercolour paintings by local artists have been exhibited in the Sanlam Hall at Kirstenbosch and all the artists involved are very excited about it.

Here are some of the paintings I’m entering in the exhibition.

The exhibition opens on Saturday 14 May and runs until 26 May, so we will be going off to Kirstenbosch to hang the paintings on Friday.  The gardens are a lovely setting with lots to see, including a sculpture garden with works by African artists.

The gardens have a very pleasant restaurant and a cafe which sells picnics for you to enjoy in the gardens.  There is a small nursery too, where you can buy indigenous plants at very reasonable prices.  I rarely leave without a new plant for my garden at Penny Lane Lodge.

You can view more of my paintings on my website.
