The 5th Annual Helderberg Wine Festival

November 9, 2012

The Helderberg Wine Festival is an annual event which is held across more than thirty five wineries from here in Somerset West to nearby Stellenbosch, all within the beautiful Cape Winelands. The festival runs over four days from the 15th November 2012 to 18th November 2012. Doors will open from 10am until 5pm daily. Past experience has shown this to be a very well run festival and locals and visitors alike support it with great enthusiasm.

The launch of the 5th Annual Helderberg Wine Festival will be on Thursday, 15 November at Waterkloof Wines’s “Six Senses Evening”, which adds ‘enjoyment’ to the usual five senses of smell, taste, touch, hearing and sight.

The festival offers fun, excitement and entertainment to wine lovers, friends and family. Great food from some of the highly rated restaurants in the area, live music, kiddies’ programmes, exhibitions, shows and award-winning wines draw the crowds and there is something for everyone on offer.

Local charities benefit from the event and the festival organisors this year will support Amorim Cork’s “CorkLife project” which aims to create sustainable work opportunities by re-using old corks.

Festival packs are R75 pp for a one-day pass and R120 pp for a multi-day pass. On-line tickets are available from or from the Helderberg Wine Festival Face book page.

During the festival tickets are on sale at Audacia Winery (Corner of Annandale Rd & the R44), Vergenoegd Wine Estate (off the Baden Powell Rd near the N2), Blaauwklippen Vineyards (on the R44 near Stellenbosch) and Waterkloof Wines on the old Sir Lowry’s Pass Road.
