The South African Society of Artists Merit Exhibition: Kirstenbosch Gardens

January 29, 2013

sasa logoLast Friday saw the opening of the South African Society of Artists Merit Exhibition at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town. The exhibition was opened by nationally renowned visual artist and educator, Lionel Davis.

I am very pleased to be part of it as it is only those members who achieved high scores in last year’s Annual Exhibition selection who are able to take part. The work on show is therefore of a very good standard and the team from SASA who did the hanging have certainly done us proud.

Here are a couple of the paintings I have on display. Both were inspired by a trip I took to Victoria Falls last July.

The exhibition as a whole is visually very pleasing and Kirstenbosch is a fabulous setting. Over the next couple of days, which are set to be quite hot, the Sanlam Hall where the exhibition is being held is the perfect place to cool off while enjoying the work on show.

The exhibition runs until 3 February and we’re all hoping that lots of visitors come and see (and buy) our artwork!

For more information about the Society, you can contact the South African Society of Artists Secretary, Liz Pearson, on (021) 671 8941 or email lizp@iafrica.com.
