Galileo Open Air Cinema comes to Somerset West

October 20, 2014

There is something very special about open air cinema. In a darkening landscape with a myriad of stars overhead, you settle down with your picnic, your blanket and your loved one and are transported to the world of silver screen stars.

With a regular spot  on Wednesday night against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain in Kirstenbosch Gardens and on Thursdays at the Croquet Lawn at the trendy V&A Waterfront, the Galileo Open Air Cinema offers a real treat each week from November to April. Each week film fanatics get to sit back, relax and enjoy killer flicks, from cult classics and rom-coms to sci-fi thrillers and dramas.

And now the Galileo is coming to the Cape Winelands. For one Saturday each month you can enjoy an array of film classics under a ceiling of stars with a glass of award winning wine in hand, in some of the most beautiful wine estates the Cape Winelands has to offer.

On Saturday 29 November, the Galileo comes to the Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West for a showing of Mamma Mia. What a treat! And just up the road from Penny Lane Lodge.
